Tailgating is when a driver driving too close with the car in front and literally riding up on its tail. According to the rules of road, there must have a safe distance between two vehicles. When you driving too close with the car in front, you might not react fast. When you cannot avoid hitting another vehicle, it may cause car accident. Sometimes, when a driver is getting tailgated by another driver, the person in front gets angry at the person behind them and sometimes will “tap” their brakes (just to get the brake lights to go on) in an attempt to get the tailgater to back off and use a safer following distance. This is a very dangerous move.
