Rules and Regulation of Road in Malaysia - The Road Signs

     Road signs serve as visible reminders for road users which appear along any road or motorway. These signs carry out different messages of instruction or information to people on road. Learning of road signs is one part of Theory class before drivers passed with their driving license because it is very important for driver to understand the condition of road to avoid accident.

     Usually, the road signs in Malaysia are consistent with the international road signs, but some of them had been translate to be Malay words for the occasional usage.

     This means the road is One Way Street which means the traffic is only available to travel in ONE direction ONLY.  Indications of traffic direction will be guide by the arrow on the sign. You must reverse in your vehicle to the direction preferred by the road signs even the direction is not the flow you wish to go.

Its means STOP. Usually it will be used aside of junction where there is possibility that you may have to stop to avoid dangerous occasion such as accidents.

     This means Give Way to other vehicle. This signs is used to indicate a junction where the vehicles on the road will need to provide way for the moving vehicle on the other junction road for entering. You have to be alert to the vehicles that needed for help of give way, at the same time you need to slow down the speed.

     It serves as reminder for all the drive to Drive Smartly. Usually is place along highway. Thus, driver can stay within the speed limit and keep distance with the vehicle which stayed in front of his/her vehicle.

     The road signs showed above only the basic traffic signs in the world, and there are still many of it. Moreover, usually drivers can learn all the road sign through Highway Code Test. It is so common but extremely important for road user, neither driving or walking across the road to ensure the safety and traffic smoothness. Ignore on the road signs are also one of the main cause of traffic accidents.
