This road safety awareness campaign was organized by The Road Safety Department (JKJR) cooperate with two religious organizations which were Islamic Information and Services Foundation (IIS) and Federation of Taoist Associations Malaysia at the Sungai Besi Toll Plaza in Seri Kembangan.
In order to ensure that all the public especially motorists able to back home safely, they had gave away 50 helmets and 200 goodies bags which containing road safety pamphlets and snacks for the motorists and motorcyclists who heading home for Hari Raya Aidiladha at Sungai Besi toll plaza on 13 October 2013.
So that when they feeling hungry or tired, they can having the snacks and rest at the rest stop. While they are resting, they will read the road safety pamphlets.
The purpose of this road safety awareness campaign to create awareness and pressure the importances of road safety among motorists. The main highlight of this campaign was focused on the three users in road which were bus drivers, motorcyclists and motorists.
For motorcyclists they were had helmet exchanges programmer
by changing the new helmet that were SIRIM- approved.
Besides, for motorists was focused on the use of seat belt for all passengers including those at the back; for bus drivers were given larger luminous stickers to make the vehicles more visible when they were driving at night.
The Federation of Taoist Associations Malaysia president Tan Hoe Chieow said that they were felt blissful to do bit effort to create awareness on road safety so that can reduce the accidents rate and they were hoped to remind motorists of their religious obligations.
"'It was the first time that JKJR was collaborating with a religious organization." said by the JKJR Federal Territory Director Muhammad Heeza Hassan.
Through this campaign, they hope to minimise the accidents rate particularly during major festival like Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Chinese New Year and Thaipusam festival.
Besides the effort of government, our Promise Me- Road Safety Campaign create the road safety awareness among the TARUC students. Most of the students they are driving and walking around the college area and also backing home.
So our campaign will transmit the come home safe message to them by playing the remote control car and will test their knowledge about the meaning of the road sign.
